My friend Dick Axelrod from Chicago has a new book out – a revision to his ‘Terms of Engagement.’ His first book was good, this one is excellent. A great mix of practical stuff and thoughtful research applied to the practice of leading change effectively.
He began this work by seeking to help managers develop OD (organisational development) skills. Tools, models, skills and approaches normally in the hands of consultants can be used VERY effectively by the manager or leader who invests his or her time in learning them. I love this and it’s right in line with my work as an organisational consultant and coach.
Dick asked me to do illustrations for each chapter of the book – to try and illuminate the core concepts – and wrote lovely things about me in his acknowledgements!
