coaching definition

Good day today. Not only did I have the privilege of working with some great people, I think we made some real progress today. For example, one of the meetings I was part of finalised the coaching definition for some work we’ve been doing with leaders in secondary schools in Angus council. Starting with a working definition some 7 months ago, we have had input from about 150 educational leaders & came up with our final definition.

The section above is the WHAT. We also have a WHY, WHEN and OUTCOMES description. If you are interested, email me and I’ll let you have a copy.

I think it’s pretty cool…

I chose the picture of ‘Neptune’s Staircase’ (the start of the Caledonian Canal) for a reason. The canal locks go up – coaching helps elevate. It’s a structured process – you need to do one lock at a time. It’s simple, but it’s not easy – there are some barriers to overcome to reach your destination.
